Trouble Transactions tab

Operations Gate Trouble Transactions Trouble Transaction tab

The Trouble Transactions tab enables you to process trouble transactions and print gate tickets. A gate transaction with a status of TROUBLE is a trouble transaction. When you enter information for the trouble transaction, such as the transaction number, the Trouble Transactions tab displays the gate transaction type form defined for the specified trouble transaction.

To process a trouble transaction, enter any corrected information for the transaction in the gate transaction type form and save the transaction. If no further errors are generated when the transaction is saved, the trouble condition is successfully resolved.

If your gate configuration allows a truck to proceed to later gate stages with a trouble transaction, it is possible for the trouble transaction to have a status of TROUBLE at more than one gate stage. In this case, N4 displays the first gate stage form with a status of TROUBLE in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area. Once processed successfully, N4 automatically displays the next gate stage form with a status of TROUBLE until all of the trouble gate stages for the trouble transaction have been processed.

You can double-click the trouble transaction in the All Transactions tab to see a list of all of the gate stages with a status of TROUBLE, if more than one trouble gate stage exists. You can also add a new gate transaction type for a truck visit using the Trouble Transactions tab. In addition, you can also access a truck visit that does not have any gate transactions associated with it and associate required gate transaction types with the truck visit from the Trouble Transactions tab.

To process a trouble transaction:

  1. In the Search for Truck Visit/Truck Transaction area, enter the truck license number, transaction number, gate visit number, driver card, or driver license for N4 to search for the truck visit and associated gate transactions to be processed.

If N4 finds a matching truck visit, N4 replaces the Search for Truck Visit/Truck Transaction panel with the Truck Visit panel and displays the found truck visit details.

In addition, N4 lists the associated gate transactions in the All Transactions area. If you entered a transaction number, N4 also displays the corresponding gate form for the trouble transaction in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area.

  1. If you searched for a truck visit, you can edit the truck visit details, as needed, in the Truck Visit panel.

  2. Double-click the trouble gate transaction to display the corresponding gate stage form in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area. In addition, if the trouble transaction has a status of TROUBLE at more than one gate stage, N4 displays a list of the trouble gate stages.

If a gate form does not display and you enter the details in the <GateStage>Transaction Entry area, N4 creates a new gate transaction with the specified details.

  1. Enter or edit the details for the selected gate transaction.

N4 does not automatically refresh the lookup fields in the gate forms to include entities added while the gate form is open. You must click to update any lookup fields, such as Booking/Order, in the gate forms.

  1. Click Save Transaction in the <GateStage>Transaction Entry area to save the current gate transaction.

To save a gate transaction at any time, you can also press Ctrl+Enter keys.

You can define a hot key to trigger the Save Transaction, Proceed to Next Stage, and Proceed to Trouble buttons. For more information, see ROADGATE039 (GATE_TRANSACTION_FORM_HOT_KEY) (on page 1).

The system processes and validates the transaction details you have entered and disables the Save Transaction button.

  1. If an error, warning, or rejection occurs for the truck visit or a gate transaction associated with the truck visit, you can:

To override an error when using Gate APIs to execute the gate workflow, see How do I override reject business task errors when using Gate APIs? (on page 1).

N4 displays the errors related only to the current gate transaction that you are processing. If other transactions have errors too, they are displayed only when you select those gate transactions for processing.

  1. If the truck is performing more than one gate transaction, repeat steps 2 through 5 for each additional gate transaction needing processing.

  2. To complete the gate stage for the selected truck visit after all the gate transactions are processed, do one of the following:

If the trouble transaction has a status of TROUBLE at more than one gate stage, N4 automatically displays the next trouble gate stage in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area for processing. Once all trouble is resolved for a truck visit and you click Proceed to Next Stage, N4 sets the truck visit status as OK and updates the next gate stage. You can then process the associated truck at the next gate stage.

In addition, if a truck visit has all canceled gate transactions, you can open the truck visit in the Trouble Transactions tab and process the associated gate transactions at the Trouble stage. Once all trouble is resolved, click Proceed to Next Stage and N4 sets the truck visit status as OK and updates the next gate stage. You can then process the associated truck at the next gate stage.
